Welcome to Teddee & Tranquillon Chihuahua Kennels

Teddee and Tranquillon Chihuahua Kennels have been a life long goal for us. 

They were founded in 2002 when we, Cheryl and Peter McKay, of Auckland, New Zealand, found that we had a little more free time to devote to the breed we had always loved and owned as pets.   Peter has always been a devoted fan and owner of Smooth coat Chihuahua's and although Cheryl has adored them, she always had a hankering for long coat Chihuahua's, so when the decision to take that big step forward was made, we took our time choosing the best we could find that suited our criteria.    It was another big step into the show ring for both of us, as we had not done any showing of dogs before, but it soon became a true passion and a lot of enjoyment meeting with new friends each week at shows.

Success came and went and now we are absolutely thrilled with the direction our breeding is going, with success coming in some form at most shows.   Our Chihuahua's are our babies first and foremost and whether they win or lose, we are thrilled to have them and take them proudly home from each show for more love and attention.

We are both dedicated to the betterment of the Chihuahua breed in our breeding programme and  our aim is to breed chihuahua’s true to the standards which have a wonderful  nature and are full of confidence and love.   To this end our dogs are all raised in our home and handled by as many people as possible.   Once they have been vaccinated they are taken with us to as many shows as possible to ensure they become confident in all situations.

It is also our mission to ensure that all Chihuahua lovers have all the knowledge we can provide, in how to choose and care for a  Chihuahua  whether it be for pet or show.  We are always happy to talk with people regarding their requirements and endeavour to lead them in the direction best suited  for them and our beloved breed.
